50+ Lab Rats Rescued Need Homes - 05/23/15

New Life Animal Sanctuary www.NewLifeAnimalSanctuary.org has rescued 53 more lab rats who need homes.

These approximately 10 month old pink eyed white rats (Sprague Dawley lab rats) are shy since they are not accustomed to being held. With the extra attention that they deserve, these rats will blossom in to sweet trusting rats like Niles, another lab rat rescued by the Animal Care & Adoption Network, previously did.  These rats are intact and reportedly healthy.

50 rats in Contra Costa County (No. Calif.) need placement ASAP - 11/22/14

Cross posting appreciated

The Sergeant from Animal Control (Contra Costa County - San Francisco Bay Area) phoned me today and asked if Animal Care & Adoption Network could help place any of the 50 rats (20 adults and 30 babies/juveniles--ages not yet confirmed) from a situation they are working on.  I told him that ACAN is at capacity but that I would network to see if we could find placement for any of the rats.  He believes that at least some of the rats are used to being handled and are friendly.

If you or anyone you know could take at least a pair (or a single if you have rats to bond him or her with) please email me at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible.  The Sergeant would like to place as many of these rats as possible with permanent homes because their shelter does euthanize.

Bryson Air - Saving animals from euthanasia!
Bryson Air provides freedom flights to innocent animals on death row
I would like to introduce an opportunity for those of you who may need to transport animals to various areas of California or even out of state in the future.  Zachary Bryson who has transported many animals (mainly dogs and rats so far) through Pilots 'n Paws has started his own nonprofit organization -- Bryson Air.  Zach has transported rats for me in the past and his compassion for all animals gives me peace of mind each time an animal travels with him.

Please take a look at the Bryson Air website  http://bit.ly/brysonair and the Facebook page    http://on.fb.me/N1toSY .  Donations to BrysonAir.org will help shelter animals who are facing euthanasia find the loving homes they deserve and allow sick animals to be transported to rescue organizations that can provide the special medical attention they require.
